* 1 loaf (1 lb.) French bread, 4x24-in.
* 1/2 c. butter, softened
* 2 Tbsp. chopped onion
* 1 Tbsp. poppy seed
* 1 tsp. seasoning salt
* 1/2 tsp. lemon juice
* 1 Tbsp. prepared mustard
* 16 oz. Wisconsin Swiss cheese, shredded
* 1 can (4 oz.) mushroom pieces and stems, drained, chopped
1. Slice bread into 1-1/2 in. slices without cutting through the bottom of the loaf. Cut loaf across the top, perpendicular to the slices, again not slicing through the bottom.
2. Mix all filling ingredients. Spread filling into slices. Wrap loaf in aluminum foil and place on cookie sheet. Bake at 350° F for 30 to 40 min.
